Selma Cover Image DVD DVD

Selma [videorecording] / Paramount Pictures Pathe and Harpo Films present ; a Plan B/Cloud Eight Films/Harpo Films production ; in association with Ingenious Media ; an Ava DuVernay film ; produced by Christian Colson, Oprah Winfrey, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner ; written by Paul Webb ; directed by Ava DuVernay.

Summary:

Depicts Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s historical struggle to secure voting rights for all people, a dangerous and terrifying campaign that culminated with an epic march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama in 1964. This is a look at Martin Luther King's 1965 voting-rights march against racial injustice. It stings with relevance to the here and now. Oyelowo's stirring, soulful performance as King deserves superlatives. The director has done a great service with Selma. Not only has she made one of the most powerful films of the year, she's given us a necessary reminder of what King did for this country...and how much is left to be done. -- Provided by publisher.
